Youth in Action for Sustainable Development Goals is a Call for Ideas promoted by Fondazione Italiana Accenture from 2017 to 2023, with the aim of gathering and rewarding the best project ideas inspired by the SDGs presented by young graduates or undergraduates under 30.
The program’s goal was to address business challenges and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals identified in the UN 2030 Agenda.
In each of the seven editions of the competition, about 15 different companies participated, each presenting a “Sustainability Challenge”—a brief on an economic, social, or environmental sustainability issue that the company was interested in exploring. The young participants in the Call had the opportunity to respond to one or more of these challenges, proposing their project ideas. Over the years, the program’s format evolved to better meet the current needs of both companies and young people.
During its seven editions, Youth in Action for Sustainable Development Goals collected over 850 project ideas and awarded more than 100 young people under 30 with internships and scholarships. The program had a significant impact, stimulating innovation and youth participation in promoting sustainability, valuing their ‘natively sustainable’ thinking, and contributing to the progress toward the global goals of the 2030 Agenda.
